- The Happiness Trap by Russ Harris. Easy to read with plenty of actionable exercises from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
- The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown. (And her other books including Daring Greatly). Her books focus on working through guilt and shame and leaning into vulnerability to connect with other people.
- Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. Viktor describes the psychological method he used to survive Nazi concentration camps during World War II.
Inspiration for nerds or wannabe nerds:
- The Electric Life of Michael Faraday by Alan Hirshfeld. Faraday’s story has always inspired me – self taught through humble beginnings, Faraday went on to become one of the greatest experimentalists of all time.
- The Emperor’s New Mind by Roger Penrose. Sir Roger walks the reader through almost all foundational elements of mathematics, physics and computation as he weaves his argument to question the limits of artificial intelligence.
